Conservation Services
Conservation is a living element in the life force of architecture. Gilroy McMahon have the specialist skills and key personnel fully accredited for Conservation. We have an excellent working relationship with all relevant Heritage organisations and Archaeology Departments. We were awarded the country’s top award, the RIAI Triennial silver medal for conservation measures implemented in the museum project at Collins Barracks. We have been awarded the An Taisce environment award for the historic Sligo Town Hall’s sensitive integration of modern to the historic. Other notable Conservation projects include Isoldes Tower, Temple Bar, Farnham House and Dublin City Art Gallery, the Hugh Lane.
Interior Design Services
Gilroy McMahon interior design team combine imaginative design ideas with an efficient functional and practical approach to the use of space. We have a commitment to high quality and have completed many interior design projects varying from office space planning, museum and exhibition, commercial, retail and restaurant fit outs. A skillful integration of installations by external professional artists has been central to much of our work. The Viking ‘navigation’ wall in Temple Bar theatre by artist Grace Weir is one of the most poetic and imaginative uses of glass reinforced concrete worldwide.
Project Management Services
Gilroy McMahon provide project management services, in addition to their architectural services. In-house we have experienced and qualified personnel available. Gilroy McMahon Director Ms. Deirdre Lennon has considerable experience in this role having worked as Design Manager East for London’s new Jubilee Line. Deirdre assumed project management responsibilities for three major underground stations with a construction value in excess of £100M. We are fully familiar with both in-house responsibilities and the concept of project management as a separate science.
Health & Safety Services
Gilroy McMahon have acted as Project Supervisor for Design Stage, under the Health & Safety at Work Acts, on a variety of complex public projects for diverse Clients including Dublin City Council, the Office of Public Works, Sligo Borough Council, the department of Foreign Affairs, Limerick Co. Council and the Dublin Institute of Technology. We have similarly acted for many private sector organisations. Health and Safety induction through Willis Corroon Hinton, Health and Safety Consultants. Every member of Gilroy McMahon has completed the‘Safe Pass’ on site training for Health and Safety in the construction sector.
