PROJECTS: Sporting - Marketfields
FAI Sports Stadium, Marketfields, Limerick
This project is the first experiment in what shall become a new building type for this country- a popular stadium and sports facility integrated with a college campus. An obvious advantage is to economise on infrastructural investment. The stadium acts as a fully modern facility for Limerick FC when required. The field of play together with their sports related ancillaries are utilised daily by the College. In that mode back-up hospitality and other such spaces are used for both teaching and campus related support.
